    Tour Description

Every year many visitors flock to Montmartre, but most miss out on the authentic hidden side of this special place. Away from the crowds, you can still find the Montmartre of Picasso, Toulouse Lautrec and Van Gogh, where artists lived, drank, danced and painted, exchanging their paintings for food and art supplies. Hear their fascinating stories and those of the raucous cabarets and music halls where the French Cancan was invented.

Today Montmartre remains a delightful and typical quarter of Paris, proud of its history and inhabited by Monmartrois who remain passionate about their unique neighborhood. Explore tiny alleyways, evocative cobbled streets and quiet squares, discover a beautiful working vineyard and stroll along vibrant streets where locals shop for fresh produce in the many specialist boutiques and enjoy the lively café terraces.See the artist’s square, where modern day artists still gather each day to paint and sell their works, and admire the spectacular views over the city from the foot of the Sacré Coeur.

    FAQ

Is there a lot of walking on this tour?

This tour has been carefully designed to see as much as possible at a comfortable pace but please note that Montmartre is more challenging than our other walking tours. It is on a hill, you will sometimes be walking uphill and many of the streets are cobbled. For these reasons, this tour is not suitable for those with walking difficulties.

    Can I bring a stroller?

You can bring a stroller. Note that access in Montmartre is not always optimal for strollers as it is on a hill and there are cobblestones, but you should not encounter any particular difficulties.

Is this tour suitable for children?

This tour is suitable for children, Montmartre is a fun place that children enjoy exploring. However if you have younger children and are looking for tours that are specifically designed for families with kids, allowing the children to interact and participate with the guide throughout, our Family Tours are perhaps more appropriate as the children will be the focus of the visit.
