| Join your expert local guide for a full day visit to the magnificent Palace of Versailles. Visit the extravagant State Apartments and stroll through the sparkling Hall of Mirrors – just as the royals once did! Escape the crowds through the spectacular gardens and down to the private estate of Queen Marie Antoinette. Visit the Petit Trianon, her exquisite private palace set in luxuriant gardens, and the place she loved the most. You'll glimpse her private theater, known as ‘the jewel of Versailles’, and wander through her ersatz Normandy village, built specially for her to simulate the healthy simplicity of country life. |
“Although I had visited Versailles in the past, this guided tour was worth booking. We had the privilege to be guided by the awesome, Roman, who made the tour, super interesting, captivating our imaginations, and keeping our kids involved and engaged during the entire day. I can’t stress enough how excellent Roman was. He totally made our day. Versailles and its grounds, including the Petit Trianon are spectacular by themselves, but absorbing them with a GREAT guided tour is a super plus. Thank you, Roman!”
Your reservation uses pre‑booked, timed entry so you bypass the public ticket line. As at all major sites, security screening still applies. Our guide handles museum formalities so the group moves efficiently. The guards at the palace supervise the timed entry for groups.
Unless you have chosen to meet directly in Versailles, we meet in central Paris and ride the suburban train together to Versailles. Our coordinator meets you in Paris and accompanies the group door‑to‑door. Your guide joins up with you all at the palace. Your voucher confirms the exact meeting point and transport details. (Typical route: RER C to “Versailles Château – Rive Gauche,” ~10‑minute walk to the Palace.)
Morning: the Palace highlights (State Apartments, Hall of Mirrors). Mid‑day: time in the Gardens. Lunch break at the bottom of the main Gardens (please note lunch is at your own expense). Afternoon: the Estate of Marie‑Antoinette—Petit Trianon and the Queen’s English Style Garden and Her Hamlet—with the Petit Train shuttle back to the Palace to reduce walking.
Yes. Garden access is included with this tour; you won’t pay extra—even on Musical Gardens/Fountains days (seasonal).
The fountains and musical days run on selected dates spring–fall; your guide will help you enjoy whichever displays are scheduled on your date. Evening Night Fountains are separate, optional events that take place on weekends in summer - ask your guide if you are visiting on a weekend and would like to see them.
Yes—Versailles is vast. Expect several miles of walking over the day (palace route + gardens + Trianon paths). We include the Petit Train back from the Trianon to ease the final stretch. Wear comfortable shoes.
Absolutely—many families love this day. Please book a place for every participant (including children) so we respect group size and timed entries.
Yes—once the guided visit ends, you’re free to keep exploring until closing. Please note re‑entry isn’t permitted after you leave the site.
Your voucher lists the precise meeting point in central Paris. Please arrive 15 minutes early so we can ensure we catch our train and enter promptly at our timed slot.
Yes—there are cafés, restaurants, and a sandwich bar in the Gardens; your guide will suggest good options during our midday pause.
Comfortable walking shoes and a light layer (the estate is breezy). No food or drink in the Palace rooms; water is fine as long as you keep it away from the artworks.
Travel light. Large bags/suitcases are not allowed in rooms; free cloakrooms are available but it takes time to access them, and we do have a timed entry that we have to respect. Strollers and back‑frame baby carriers are generally not permitted in Palace rooms; front‑worn soft carriers are preferred. Only foldable umbrellas are allowed inside the Palace.
Yes—there are elevators and adapted routes in the Palace and accessible services across the estate. Tell us your needs when booking; we’ll advise the best pacing and options. However the visit of the Gardens is very challenging for wheelchair users, as the pathways are gravelled.
Tours run rain or shine; many areas are indoors, but paths can be windy or damp—bring a compact umbrella/rain layer. In bad weather your guide may choose to spend a little more time inside the palace for your comfort.
